Also, pace yourself during the day, avoid straining the joints by doing tasks awkwardly, avoid being in one position for to long, and notice which position and movements make your body stiff. It is also important to keep active however balance your activities with rest and try to stick to a healthy weight.
Some good and practical changes that can be made at home and work will significantly help how you feel throughout the day. One way to protect your joints could be by thinking about the way you will carry out your tasks, like washing, dressing, and going to work. Some simple changes that you can make to decrease your risk of damaging your joints include: using large and stronger joints which will help in pushing doors open with for example your shoulder instead of just your hands. You could also spread the weight of an object over many joints, by using both hands to carry the shopping bags or use a shoulder bag instead. In addition, avoid the habit of gripping things too tightly, instead try to hold items as loosely as possible or expand your grip with padding. It is also a good idea to ship than to lifting items, for example sliding heavy pans along a kitchen unit. Also try to consider a more flexible working schedule by starting early or later in the day to avoid the rush hour. Finally, try not to sit in the same position throughout the day. It’s important to take regular breaks and more around.
